FRS 36 Impairment

FRS 36 Impairment of Assets calls for annual assessment of PPE, intangible assets and Goodwill at CGU level. My employer made an acquisition in the year and an impairment test was required. My starting point was to breakdown by CGU and prepare a cashflow for each CGU using the EBIT to derive the NPV. The NPV is assessed at company and group level to conclude no impairment is required. Group Consolidation

Unless you are a wholly owned subsidiary and your ultimate holding company is doing the consolidation, otherwise FRS 110 calls for consolidation so long as control over subsidiary exists.
